SHORT SUMMARY: 2-2 was OK in the end. Both teams had good periods and bad. Fantastic match to watch. England’s penalty where they scored 2-2 looked like a referee mistake from where we sat, but otherwise the referee was excellent.

1: Daniel Gjerde Sætren RATING: 6

Unlucky with a deflection in front of him on 0-1. Almost gets a hand on the penalty. A few keys saves, especially after 30 minutes.

2: Luca Høyland RATING: 5

Struggling towards the end of the 1st half when England creates a lot on his side and he is misplaced a few times. Good start to the 2nd half and an excellent crossing but few other offensive contributions.

3: Mathias Øren RATING: 5

Important clearance preventing a goal after 66 minutes. Needs to take some of the blame for 0-1 when loses a challenge high up in the pitch and England attacks the space behind him. Otherwise an OK+ match.

5: Jonathan Vonheim Norbye RATING: 6

Wins a lot of challenges. Ruthless and strong especially in the air.

15: Mikkel Kalvenes Hope RATING: 5

Prevents a goal for England after 27 minutes. One dangerous loss of ball early in the match. Otherwise OK in defence. Few offensive contributions.

6: Andreas Heredia-Randen RATING: 5

Good start to the match where he controls the middle with smart passing and placement. Could (should?) have scored after 31 minutes. Not as dominating after the start but is without a doubt an intelligent player and fits the position as a defensive midfielder.

8: Sondre Milian Granaas RATING: 6

Has an excellent drive and presence in his game but should have scored more than one goal. Misses two incredible opportunities. Makes up for it with the 2-1 goal on a volley from short range. Gets the chance for a late winner with a very good involvement but nothing comes of it.

18: Lars Bjørnerud Remmem RATING: 6

Beautiful involvement after 40 minutes that should have resulted in a goal. Beautiful assist on 1-1 and hockey assist on 2-1. Otherwise OK+.

7: Julian Bakkeli Gonstad RATING: 6

Does what he does best – wins challenges high up in the pitch both on the ground and in the air. I don’t have the stats but I would be surprised if he wasn’t the player with the most kilometers in this match. Good as a target man, usually gets the ball to a team mate. But lacks x-factor in some situations.

11: Alexander Røssing-Lelesiit RATING: 7 MOM

By far the best player on the pitch in the 1st half with an assist and a spectacular goal. Also does the job defensively. Not very dominant in the 2nd half and substituted after 65 minutes. Hopefully not an injury because this player can be the key for Norway in the remainder of the championship.

20: Jesper Reitan-Sunde RATING: 5

Misses an incredible chance after 33 minutes. Also gets the chance to decide the match for Norway in stoppage time when he makes a great run but the England defender got there just in time. Works hard and normally good. onthe ball. An OK+ match.

Fillip Voster Botnen, Karsten Arman Ekorness, Troy Engseth Nyhammer, Sigurd Jacobsen Prestmo and Magnus Holte came on but not long enough to get a player rating.
