Eliteserien kicks off this weekend, and the deadline to register a Fantasy team is 15:55 on Saturday, five minutes before the match starts between Strømsgodset and Rosenborg. The Norwegian Eliteserien is a league with a relatively young average age (25.46 years in 2024), and the biggest talents disappear quickly. So, it’s crucial to stay ahead of the game before foreign clubs decide to make a move. This applies both as a FIFA-licensed football agent and as a Fantasy manager.

Agent1 has gone through the 16 Eliteserien squads and identified all players born in 2005 or later. With the help of fotball.no, transfermarkt, and VG-Lupen, along with the podcasts Rabonalupen, Spiss Vinkel, and Topp 100, we take a closer look at which of these are expected to start, as well as budget options that are close to the clubs’ starting XI.

Of the 16 Eliteserien clubs, Haugesund has the most players born in 2025 or later (9). KFUM has the fewest with only two. Both of these clubs are predicted to have a tough season, but if there’s one thing Eliteserien is known for, it’s surprises.

Bodø/Glimt (4 players)

Assessment: Described as a forward who excels in depth and combination play, with strong finishing and a good sense of the game. Høgh and Helmersen are currently ahead in the queue but will get chances in the Eliteserien 2025. Regarded as one of Denmark’s greatest talents. Not currently relevant in Fantasy due to price versus limited playing time (likely).

Nearly two meters tall, and two home matches in Round 2. A steal at 5 million.

Thrives best as a number 10 but can also play as a forward and central midfielder. Captain when Norway U20 faced Chile in November. Expected to start as a forward in the season opener of VG-Lupen due to injuries to more experienced players. Very exciting at 6.0M, especially considering that FFK has played two matches in round 2. But like most defensive midfielders… few goal contributions and thus not relevant as a midfielder in Fantasy.
