Welcome to Far Away FC!

It's not a football club - it's a blog series about unlikely success stories off the beaten track from the world of football.

The main author of Far Away FC is called Roman and he contacted me when he saw that I had become a FIFA licensed football agent. We had worked together at my former company All-in Translations for many years where Roman delivers content and translations about sports and gaming. Roman is from Belgium and has an extreme interest in the stories behind peculiar football cases.

For example:

  • What is the story of that English player who is now playing in the first division in… Bangladesh?
  • Why do we love the Conference League?
  • What are the most remote teams in the world that could play in European cups?
Roman watched all the matches of his beloved Belgium in the World Cup in Brazil in 2014.

These are questions that trigger the writer in Roman. So we decided to create a series of blog posts on Agent1.no with “down-to-earth football” stories about the cultural side of the sport that you will not read about anywhere else.

Roman explains:

“For some reason I have always been reading a lot of original articles related to football offline. For example the French magazine So Foot or some of the books published by Romain Molina. I also really enjoy YouTube channels of some semi-pro players who are vlogging about their career (Antoine Lemaire in Finland for example). And when I play Football Manager (goodbye social life), I am always choosing the most extreme clubs to start with. I will never forget winning the Champion’s League with San Marino Calcio, that is for sure!”

So keep an eye out on the Agent1.no blog and Welcome to Far Away FC!

PS: Can you guess which jersey Roman is wearing in the featured image?
